Half of the beach is clothing optional. It has a laid back vibe. Nothing creepy. The other half of the beach is not clothing optional and usually only has a few dozen people. There are signs divding the two halves.
I have never been to a clothing-optional beach before, so when I was out in New Jersey for vacation and a friend brought up the idea, I was like...why not?! Even though it was new experience, it was a refreshing one. There was a wide variety of body types on the beach and there seemed to be a lot less body shaming on this beach than that of a beach where some type of swimming attire is required. If I’m ever in the area again, you might see me again at this beach!
Get here early, especially on weekends as the parking lot here fills quickly. From there it is about a 500 yard walk to the beach from the parking lot.
Best beach on the east coast. Clothing optional. Extremely popular in season. Capacity crowds by 10am most Summer weekends. Large parking lot closes at this time. Long walk to the ocean from lot. Take your trash home or don't come!

Always beautiful, welcoming and pristine. Worth it's top 10 in the world ranking for nude beaches! The people are friendly and polite. The views of the New York City skyline and Verazzano Narrows Bridge are pristine. The sand is always clean and well manicured. The water is always beautiful. Only downside is restrooms are really far away because the beach is very far away from parking area
